Part of a series of studies examining the intersection of material culture and mental illness, ClutterCards is an ironic and darkly humorous set of oh-so-collectible trading cards featuring “stuff”—junk I know I should throw away but just can’t. Informed by actual psychological disorders such as hoarding, these cards shed light onto some of the real reasons that we hold onto stuff: unresolved negative emotions, low self-esteem, and unrealistic beliefs regarding value and waste.
